This book series is based on Charlotte Brontë’s three most popular novels. Pictured on the covers are illustrations of the main female protagonists of each book. The illustrations were inspired by sketches and figure studies by artists in the Victorian Era. The contrast between the clean, serif typeface and the messiness of the sketches represents the inner conflict the characters face in regard to societal expectations versus the unfiltered version of oneself.
